Valor - RESOURCE COORDINATORThe Resource Coordinator is responsible for an assigned caseload of dually diagnosed, justice-involved individuals needing mental health competency restoration supports. This position will assist the caseload in meeting their court-ordered obligations, becoming independent and transitioning into the community. Following up with supportive services to participants, provide focus and directed oversight, communication, and coordination. Provide community resources for our dual-diagnosed offenders to learn to manage substance abuse issues along with their mental health issues. This role requires good judgment and flexibility in responding to crises. This is a 24/7 program and may require night and weekend coverage for the safety and well-being of all clients residing in the facility. Shifts may change to meet the requirements of daily operations. May be required to travel to attend limited meetings with contracting agencies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Generates and periodically updates a directory of providers for use by organization staff and clients.
- Monitors the ongoing provision of services from community agencies.
- Assists clients in finding community resources such as, but not limited to, case management, personal assistance, homemaker, meals-on-wheels, transportation, counseling, occasional visiting nurse, preventative health screening/wellness and legal advocacy.
- Educates clients on service availability, application procedures, client rights, etc., providing advocacy as appropriate.
- Supports clients in attending all weekly appointments and complying with court-ordered obligations.
- Creates service plans and aftercare plans which may include utilizing services such as Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), legal, behavioral, medical, educational, and vocational.
- Provides crisis management as needed for the Mental Health competency clients.
- Actively participate in community supervision.
- Develop volunteer programs with service organizations in the community.
- Build a working relationship with the client and their families if appropriate and teach and model appropriate limit setting and follow through.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in behavioral science or a related field is required. Successful and relevant work experience combined with professional certifications and/or training requiring rigorous effort in the discipline of counseling or case management may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
