We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team in Bohemia, New York.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day Quality Assurance Engineering support across all areas of the company, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Product Development, Procurement, and Product Assurance!
Skills & Qualifications:
+ Bachelors degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, or Applied Sciences.
+ Six Sigma Certification (e.g., CSSGB, or comparable) is preferred.
+ Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience.
+ Knowledge of quality, military, and industry standards such as AS9100, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-STD-883, and IPC-A-610.
+ Demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, articulate, and present technical information in both written and verbal forms.
+ Excellent time management skills.
+ Ability to develop excellent working relationships with management, customers, and vendors.
Job Description:
+ Ensuring timely resolution of production issues to support on-time and cost-efficient shipment of products.
+ Establishing and maintaining quality procedures to ensure performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards.
+ Resolving quality issues/discrepancies to full resolution.
+ Understanding customer performance/quality requirements and measuring our performance against these requirements.
+ Performing internal audits of department processes and procedures.
+ Analyzing and investigating the root cause of non-conforming product deficiencies, including failure analysis reports, review of parts, manufacturing processes, RMAs, materials issues, development of disposition, corrective and preventative actions, and verification.
+ Reviewing specification control drawings and generating quality plans.
+ Assisting Incoming Inspection with material disposition and Material Review Reports.
+ Reviewing and approving engineering change notices, manufacturing processes, and SOPs to ensure compliance.
+ Planning, monitoring, and tracking product qualification testing per customer specifications.
Work Environment: Our company is a full hands-on design engineering and manufacturing firm. The primary environment for this role is within the Engineering team, which operates in an office/cubicle setting. However, candidates will also have exposure to the manufacturing floor, allowing them to see products being made and tested. This position offers a comprehensive view of the entire operation and its processes. Currently, the Mechanical Engineering team consists of two members, but we are expanding due to increased business demands, making this the first of several new hires.
