Compensation for the Occupatioanl Therapist ranges from $38-52/hour, and we currently offer a $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS!
The Occupational Therapist will provide comprehensive therapy services to residents in a skilled nursing facility. The Occupational Therapist will assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, functional skills, and quality of life for individuals with physical, emotional, or developmental conditions. Key Responsibilities:
Resident Assessment: Evaluate residents physical, cognitive, and emotional needs through assessment tools and direct interaction.
Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans aimed at improving residents functional abilities, focusing on ADLs such as dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility.
Therapeutic Interventions: Implement evidence-based interventions, including exercises, assistive devices, and modifications to the living environment, to promote residents independence.
Collaboration: Work closely with other interdisciplinary team members (e.g., physical therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and social workers) to coordinate care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries according to facility and regulatory standards.
Resident & Family Education: Provide training and education to residents, families, and caregivers on how to manage conditions and optimize safety and independence at home.
Discharge Planning: Assist in discharge planning and provide recommendations for continued care or home modifications when residents are transitioning out of the facility.
Compliance: Ensure therapy practices comply with federal and state regulations as well as facility policies.
Qualifications:
Education: Masters or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure: Active Occupational Therapy License in North Carolina.
Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Skills:
Strong understanding of rehabilitative principles and ADL training.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
May require manual dexterity for therapy exercises.
