Position Title: Analyst

Department: Global Markets, COO

Location: New York, NY

Reports To: Global Markets US COO

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented person to support trading documentation for the BBVA CIB Global Markets team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in negotiating and coordinating trading agreements, including ISDAs (International Swaps and Derivatives Association agreements), GMRAs (Global Master Repurchase Agreements), MRAs (Master Repurchase Agreements), CDEAs (Cleared Derivatives Execution Agreements), and other ancillary documents, including CSAs (Credit Support Annexes), confirmations, master confirmation agreements, amendments, and other related side letters. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Derivatives Documentation Management:

Draft, review, negotiate, and manage ISDAs, MRAs, GMRAs, CDEAs, CSAs, and other relevant agreements with counterparties.

Ensure that all agreements are in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Maintain and update a centralized database of all trading agreements.

Stakeholder Coordination:

Collaborate with legal, compliance, risk management, operations, sales and trading, and other internal teams to align agreement terms with business and regulatory requirements.

Serve as the primary point of contact for counterparties regarding agreement-related inquiries and negotiations.

Facilitate communication between internal departments to ensure efficient and effective agreement execution.

Ensure alignment at all times with the Global Derivatives Documentation Team.

Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare and maintain detailed records of all agreement negotiations, amendments, and terminations.

Generate regular reports on the status of agreements and present findings to senior management.

Ensure all documentation is accurately filed and easily accessible for audit and examination purposes.

Risk and Compliance:

Conduct periodic reviews of trading agreements to identify and mitigate risks.

Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting trading agreements and ensure compliance with new requirements.

Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to trading agreements.

Training and Development:

Provide training and guidance to junior staff on the specifics of trading agreements.

Stay abreast of industry best practices and continuously seek opportunities for process improvements.

Qualifications:

Education:

Juris Doctor.

Experience:

Financial Markets knowledge, either through an internship or educational specialization.

Skills:

Understanding of derivatives, financial markets and market practices.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to ensure return of signed documents and completion and closing of files.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team on the trading floor.

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $90,000 to $100,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
