DescriptionDISCLOSURE: You must be located in or near Ingham County (within a 30 mile radius) for your application to be considered due to traveling distances.We are looking for Behavior Technicians in the Lansing area, to provide center-based and in-home services. Pay range is $19-$22 per hour. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri, 8-6pm. A minimum of 10 hours availability, including two evenings required. We can accommodate most school schedules. Please see our web site at www.abainsight.net.Primary Job Function: To work in a fast-paced and often intense learning environment providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.A Behavior Technician provides direct one-on-one therapy services to individuals with autism focused on teaching functional skills and reducing problematic behaviors in the home, community, and school settings. Behavior Technicians will utilize interventions developed from the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and are supervised by a Licensed Behavior Analyst. No training in ABA? Do not worry - we will invest in you to get you trained and on your way! We often find that individuals that had no prior experience truly enjoy the work and obtain advanced credentials in the field. This could be you!Requirements RequirementsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Follows a treatment plan developed by supervising BCBA and collaborates with treatment teamPrompts safe and socially appropriate behaviors to build communication, social interaction, and problem solving skillsAdheres to standards for data collection, therapy documentation, and professional conductPerforms tasks requested by the supervising BCBA within boundaries of the BT role when providing treatmentCollaborates with supervising BCBA to communicate client-specific progress and changesMaintains a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environmentFacilitating client daily needs including feeding, toileting, dressingMaintaining a clean/sanitized and organized therapeutic environmentAdherence to organizational policies and procedures, including required trainingsFollow code of ethics as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and other credentialing bodiesCommitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordinglyEffective time management skills including managing multiple tasks at one timeEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community membersCommitment to training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technologyAbility to interpret and implement clinical protocols and written instructions for therapy sessionsMust maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and make-upMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or GED equivalentMust be able to pass all background checks and complete required trainingsMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting and standing) for extended periods of timeMust be willing to sit on the floor for extended periods of timeMust be willing to work in various environments to perform therapy such as home, schools, centers and community settingsMust be willing to drive within a 30-mile radius as needed for treatment of clients in the home, community and school settingsValid driver's license and proof of insurance requiredMust have access to email and phone contactPREFERRED/EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:Bachelor's degree (or in progress) in psychology, special education, social work, behavioral science, human development or related human service fieldsRegistered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) is preferred however not requiredThank you for your interest in ABA Insight!
