You'll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability of aviation repair and maintenance through training and preparation.What you'll do:Plans, develops, writes, revises, documents, tests, implements and controls programs for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines and related fixturing.- Prepares machine/process setup and operating instructions.- Designs and/or manufactures jigs and fixtures from sketches, requirement descriptions or drawings.- Provides support, training and problem resolution to operations personnel who use computer numerically controlled machines.- Liaises with engineering regarding component repairs, inspection and induction of new repairs.- Monitors performance, conducts feasibility studies and implements process improvements for computer numerically controlled machines.- Prepares technical specifications and cost benefit analysis for procurement of capital equipment. Liaises with management in the procurement process.- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.- Carries out special projects as assigned.Position RequirementsThe person requires an ability to understand, utilize, and communicate specialized information in speech and written text. This specialized training is often formalized and recognized by a specific certificate, diploma, or license.- Thorough understanding of repair design and development engineering manufacturing process, tool design, and fabrication methods and processes.- Strong organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills.- Thorough knowledge of computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems.
