Job Description :

We are currently hiring an Electrical Design/Project Engineer for one of our clients based in Rotterdam, New York. This is a great opportunity to join a truly global business who are at the forefront of their industry. The Design/Project Engineer role will be focused on providing direction and assistance to other engineers, technicians, and contractors. As an Electrical Design/Project Engineer, this individual will be accountable for Engineering and Designing electrical equipment. The role will also be responsible project management and assisting the lead engineer.

Below is a list of the key responsibilities for the role, whilst not exhaustive, that you will need to be able to perform to be successful;

  • Design and Engineer packages for electrical equipment
  • Troubleshoot power delivery equipment such as MCC's, VFD's, Control Panels, and AC/DC Starters
  • Lead and perform multifaceted engineering design tasks within your expertise area, coordinating and directing the work of craft labor to ensure efficiency and timely project completion.
  • Continuously enhance your technical skills and stay updated with industry standards, ensuring your engineering abilities remain current and meet or exceed recognized benchmarks.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, both internally and externally, to share specialized knowledge and support the ongoing development of engineering design and product skills within the team.
  • Handle administrative duties, including writing technical reports, ordering materials, obtaining quotations, and preparing various reports (e.g., job status, customer updates), as well as time and expense tracking. Accuracy and timeliness in these tasks are essential for effective project management.
  • Use sound judgment in managing project expenses and company funds. Safeguard company equipment and ensure it is well-maintained to protect capital investments.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 additional years of related electrical design engineering experience). You should also be able to demonstrate the ability to build strong interpersonal skills and work with minimum supervision.
