Responsibilities:
- Manage the Purchasing Team (10 remote employees consisting of Buyers and Purchasing Specialists)
- Maintain department staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
- Responsible for monitoring and evaluating employee performance, providing feedback and coaching, and executing formal performance reviews.
- Responsible for end to end purchasing cycle (creates POs, maintains PO confirmations, status updates, shipments, and inbound deliveries) of products and services from suppliers
- Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Delegate tasks for vendor follow up on purchase orders, requests invoices, confirms product deliveries
- Screen new vendors, create contract vendor codes and profiles in A-Plus system
- Coordinate7 product prioritization, scheduling, and planning for purchased products
- Handle escalated issues and complex problems concerning orders, pricing discrepancies, adjustments or exchanges and facilitates corrective process while monitoring to completion
- Collaborate and maintain frequent communication with Sales, Customer Service, Warehouses, Installation, and Accounting departments
- Performs all duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 5+ years of purchasing experience working within a computerized business platform
- 3+ years in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge and understanding of purchasing procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft products (advanced experience in Excel and Outlook)
