Schedule: Part-Time
Shift : Nights - 6:15pm - 6:45am - 2x12 hour shifts
The community youll be caring for: AdventHealth Waterman 1000 Waterman Way. Tavares, FL 32778
The role youll contribute: Provides patients with Cardiopulmonary support treatment, care, and evaluations during their inpatient stay.
The value youll bring to the team:
Delivers prescribed medication via inhalation in accordance with the physicians order
Oxygen therapy in accordance with departmental oxygen protocol
Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and treatments, as appropriate
Educates patients and family members about patient illnesses and clinical interventions
Adheres to department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Ensures patient documentation is accurate, complete and complies with department protocols and procedures
Cleans and stocks equipment
Participates in the Code Blue and Rapid Response Team
Administers all non-invasive modes of therapy for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Provides clerical assistance as required by the department
May perform setup of Holter monitors
May perform electrocardiograms
May performs cardiac stress test
May assist with patient transports requiring Respiratory Intervention
May performs Exercise Oximetry as ordered
May maintain intubation boxes up to date, stocked and secured
May perform pacer interrogations
May maintain Autopaps for QHS use
May perform peripheral intravenous venous line insertion
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:
REQUIRED:
Graduated from a Paramedic program
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Paramedic license required from the respective state board and/or respective state equivalent
Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions
Ability to identify and treat life threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice
Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
PREFERRED _:_
Associates of Science in health-related field
Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification
