Job DescriptionJob Title: Contracts & Surety Bonds Construction Attorney Job Summary: We are seeking an energetic, creative, and diligent Construction Attorney specialized in contracts and surety bonds with 3-5 years of construction law experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with our office, supporting clients in alignment with the firm's core values. Position Responsibilities:
- Analysis and management of surety risks. Surety agreement negotiation, including financing of the principal and related agreements
- Performance bond default and investigation, negotiation of completion arrangements and contracts such as tender and take over agreements
- Bid, performance and payment bond claims and litigation on public and private projects. Subcontractor performance and payment bond claims and litigation
- Issues related to placement and discharge of mechanic's lien bonds. Co-surety obligations and re-insurance cut-through obligations
- Indemnity, subrogation, and salvage, including enforcement of collateral obligations, litigation and post-litigation recovery
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate, Licensed to practice law in NY
- 3-5 years of experience in the Surety, Insurance or related industry
- Experience investigating and adjudicating claims in the surety industry is strongly preferred
