Schedule: 40 hours during normal pharmacy operations (0630-1730 Mon-Fri and 0700-1530 weekends). Weekend/holiday rotation.This position performs functions of the Pharmacy Department in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies.Monitors all orders on patient profiles for appropriateness, accuracy, drug allergies, interactions andincompatibilitiesReviews all medication orders prior to dispensingResponsible for drug, strength, schedule and form of medications that go in patient bins/dispensing cabinets at nursing care areasProvides drug information to providers, other health care personnel, and patientsSupervises the activities of supportive personnelFills employee and outpatient prescriptions as promptly as workload permitsMust be familiar with clinical programs and capable of effectively participating in themAssists with quality assurance activitiesAssists the ManagerPrepares IV admixtures, adhering to regulations, policies, and proceduresPerforms monthly controlled substance inventoryActs as system administrator for automated dispensing equipmentSupports/promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobial therapyBachelor of Science or PharmD from accredited College of Pharmacy, current license in State of IowaHospital pharmacy experience preferred (not required)Child and Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporter Training requiredBLS certifiedEmployee Benefits:Health Insurance (eligibility at 20+ hours per week)IPERS (Iowa Public Employee Retirement System)Paid LeavePharmacy (on-site)Tuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramWellness Center and Cafeteria (on-site)Optional Benefits (Aflac, Short and Long Term Disability, Dental, Vision)(Click here for details)
