OverviewKamatics, a divison of Kaman that speicalizes in self-lubricating bearings and engineered products, is looking for talented CNC Machinists! We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated CNC Machinist IV for our Track Rollers Value Stream to join our team in Bloomfield, CT on 2nd shift. The core hours for the position are 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM, and we are currently running one hour of mandatory overtime, at the end of the shift for a required 45 hours a week. Overtime pay is 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours in excess of 40 hours in a week.   • Independently set up, adjust, troubleshoot and check programming. Operate numerically controlled machine tools (2 axis lathe / 3 axis mill) to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring an intermediate level of skill
  • Setups involve familiarity with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations such as milling, boring, recessing, turning, drilling, threading, screw machine operation, etc., to the capacity of the machine and control factor
  • Works from programs, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions
  • Self-sufficient with material clamping methods, machine adjustments/offsets and console settings.
QualificationsEducation:
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Machining Training Certificate preferred
Experience:
  • Minumum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
Skills / Knowledge
  • Understands the use and inspection methods of GD&T constraints
  • Proficient in use of shop math
  • Works independently, no supervision
  • Troubleshoots basic programming errors such as taper, chatter and chip control
  • Proficient in setting up CNC machine
  • Works to standard in jaw-cutting, bringing a part to size and inspecting a part for a first piece
  • Has working knowledge of the relationship between federate and surface finish as well as surface speed to material type
