GENERAL SUMMARY: Summary:The General Maintenance Worker performs a variety of general routine services to repair and maintain hospital mechanical equipment, furnishings, and fixtures, ensuring integrity and functionality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Ensure the condition of hospital mechanical equipment, utility systems, furnishings and fixtures are safe and operational. Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and complete minor repairs to minimize equipment failures and unplanned work requests. 2. Respond to normal and emergency maintenance requests.3. Perform minor electrical wiring and repairs as needed.4. Maintain general mechanical equipment and systems in the highest ready state. 5. Maintain safe exterior walking surfaces by assisting with snow removal.6. Ensure safe work practices by performing daily tasks as safely as possible, wear proper PPE and perform lockout/tagout where required.7. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL:- Education High School Diploma or GED
- Credential Driver LicenseDriving Record Required. Due to insurance carrier requirements, all staff must be at least 21 years of age with a current class D driver's license with no more than 3 moving violations or accidents in the past 3 years.
EXPERIENCE:Required: One year of experience in building maintenance and repair, basic electrical and plumbing required. Preferred: Four years in building maintenance with a background in healthcare to include bed and wheel chair preventive maintenance and repair
