Title: REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNCIAN (RBT) Position Type: Non-Exempt
Primary Function: The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) implements, under the supervision of the division's Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Minimum Qualifications: - Credentialed as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- Associate's Degree or higher preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Skills in implementing behavior support plans as trained by the BCBA and/or school staff
- Ability to collect data daily with high fidelity
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with students, teachers, administrators, and parents
- Willingness to serve all students
- Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
- Awareness of the various characteristics of students with disabilities
- Sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity to perform job related duties
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standards
- Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and patience for children and families
Performance Responsibilities: - Follow prescribed behavioral skills acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
- Provide direct student support in the school setting under the direction and supervision of classroom teachers, special educators, building administrators, and board certified behavior analyst
- Provide professional communication with staff under the directives of supervisory staff
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required staff development trainings
- Assist board certified behavior analyst and/or school staff with behavior reduction assessments
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to student records and information
- Assist the teacher with the maintenance of a safe classroom
- Travel, as assigned, from the school board office to multiple locations

Terms of Employment: Ten months a year. Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation: Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of non-licensed personnel.
