Purchasing Agent
New Way Trucks
This position reports to the Purchasing Manager for Scranton Manufacturing and is responsible for source selection and procurement functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Secure and analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms with suppliers; recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness to the Purchasing Director.
Maintain and develop positive relations with suppliers
Contact suppliers regarding material problems and support resolution
Generate and place orders, taking maximum advantage of combining orders for reduced or free freight
Track the status of all orders
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Bachelor's Degree preferred
3-5 years of related experience preferred
Strong communications skills
Strong organizational skills
Basic accounting skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office products and procurement software
