Sign-on Bonus Job Title: Employment Specialist Reports to: Work Programs Coordinator FLSA Status: Nonexempt Primary Hours: 7 am to 3 pm (MUST BE FLEXIBLE due to employment services with individuals we serve) Summary Instructs Pre-Employment Transition classes to include, but not limited to, Social Skills, Workplace Readiness, Social Skills, Self-Advocacy, Job Readiness, and Smart Work Ethics. Provides individuals/students with support that allows them to become active, involved, and valued members of their community. Provides services and support to individuals to gain and maintain competitive employment. Prepares functional assessments, quarterly narratives, learning objective programs, and participates in Person Centered Planning, for each individual assigned in accordance with funding source requirements; assists with maintaining the premises; and assists with vehicle maintenance in coordination with supervisory staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Prepare and Instruct Pre ETS sessions to students with disabilities
- Travel to assigned schools to provide Pre ETS training
- Prepares accurate and timely documents to meet funding source requirements
- Collaborates with QDDPs, teachers, &other Transition Specialists in scheduling Pre ETS sessions and developing curriculum
- Communicates with participants, employers, families, agency personnel, direct support professionals, Program Supervisor and other appropriate parties to problem solve issues, and/or as needed.
- Attend IEP and/or PCP meetings as needed
- Serve as a role model for students/persons served
- Serve as an advocate for the persons served/students
- Serve as an ambassador for the Arc of Madison County
- Prepare and complete assessments and satisfaction surveys
- Provides individualized support, training, and supervision for individuals served at the worksite or competitive job which includes, but not limited to: skill training, building natural supports, identifying work accommodations, assistive technology, etc
- Perform specific job and/or task analysis, intake interviews, situational assessments and job matching activities as needed
- Provides job coaching and skill training plans with individuals and other parties as appropriate
- Participate in presentations, workshops, and training opportunities as needed
- Be punctual and in attendance as scheduled
- Assists with community experiences, as needed, to include but not limited to, work site tours, volunteer opportunities, mock interviews, Special Olympics, or other community activities
- Assist, as needed, with maintaining staffing ratios to ensure individual safety and wellbeing
- Provides, as needed, pre employment training to other individuals receiving services by the Arc of Madison County
- Prepares Person Centered Plans, Quarterly Narrative Report, Functional Assessments, Learning Objective Programs, etc in accordance with funding source requirements
- Possess basic computer skills
- Assists individuals with personal care as needed
- Lifts, carries, or restrains individuals as needed
- Other duties as assigned
