We're a new sports bar located in the beautiful neighborhood of Sherman Oaks. A large part of our clientele are regulars that visit us multiple times a week. We're looking for a superstar Floor Manager to uphold and elevate our floor service. We're focused on creating memorable experiences for each guest and we do so by delivering friendly, prompt, quality service. For a sports bar we are unique in that we offer delicious food, quality cocktails and a comfortable environment for any patron.
Our floor manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including managing staff, ensuring quality service, and maintaining a safe and clean environment for guests and staff. Ideally, you enjoy sports and enjoy the sport of hospitality. We are very much a team and value every single person that works with us and every guest that walks in the door.
Your responsibilities include....
Staff management
- Assist with staff training and new-hire onboarding
- Evaluate staff performance on a regular basis and supply constructive criticism when needed
- Increase or decrease staffing based on business levels
- Take corrective action/documentation when necessary
- Assist in creating staff training materials and weekly quizzes for FOH staff
Customer service
- Ensure customers have a positive experience, including greeting them, making menu recommendations, and assisting with the host duties when needed
- Acknowledge all guests positively and engage with regulars
- Encourage guests to submit Yelp! and Google reviews as well as following the restaurant on social media
- Resolve guest complaints
- Assist floor staff and bar staff when needed to expedite speedy service
Food safety
- Ensure food safety protocol at all times
- Inspect the dining room and storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Assist general management with collecting and filing CA Food Handlers cards and RBS Certifications
Inventory
- Alert management when inventory levels on bar supplies, paper goods, and marketing materials are running low
- Lock liquor cage at the end of each shift
Incident resolution
- Document, investigate, escalate, and resolve incidents involving employees and guests
- Communicate employee conflict to all of management
- Communicate all guest complaints to upper management and collect guest infomation for follow up
Sales
- Track sales during each shift
- Train staff on up-selling techniques
- Work with management to create weekly sales incentives
- Make note of poorly performing items and popular items
Closing
- Check out service staff- Servers, Bartenders, and Server Assistants
- Collect all necessary payments and complete nightly cash drop
- Set the alarm and lock the restaurant down
