Job Description:POSITION SUMMARYThe Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of the laboratory Point of Care program in compliance with regulatory requirements, policy and procedures and the TCRHCC goal of quality patient care. The Point of Care program includes laboratory tests that fall under the Waived and Provider Performed Microscopy (PPMP) categories of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) standards. The position is located in a laboratory that provides 24- hour coverage with periodic visits to ancillary testing sites (i.e. the Sacred Peaks Health Center, Cameron Health Center, and Lechee Health Center). Incumbent works day shift and occasional weekends, on-call or overtime.NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONSAssociate degree in laboratory science, chemical, physical, biological science, or health professionalsLicense/Certification:A current unexpired Medical Laboratory Technician certification from a nationally recognized certification agency. Certification must remain unexpired, in good standing, for the duration of employment.EXPERIENCE:Three (3 ) years documented work experience in clinical laboratory performing at minimum moderate complexity testing.ABOUT OUR FACILITY Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation, a JCAHO accredited health center, provides services to a 4,400 square mile area and serves as a referral center for the western part of the Navajo and Hopi Reservations. The hospital was constructed in 1975 with a bed capacity of 73. Services provided to the community include comprehensive inpatient/outpatient emergency services, dental and ophthalmology services, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery and urological procedures. Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation is located in Northwestern Arizona on the land known as the Colorado Plateau. This semi-desert landscape varies in elevation from 4,400 in the Little Colorado River Valley to nearly 7,000 feet at Preston Mesa. The staff of medical providers includes surgeons, general medical officers, internal medicine, psychiatrists, pediatricians, family practice physicians, obstetricians, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, and urologists. Dental staff includes general dentists, endodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, pediatric dentists, dental assistants and hygienists.
