The Quality/CMM Engineer supports efforts and plans to coordinate the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards for Colson Group worldwide. Primary Responsibilities
* Support One Colson quality and continuous improvement strategies, programs and procedures.
* Assists the Quality Manager in any and all Quality related issues or concerns.
* Perform inspections on various products and related assembly components using standard measuring equipment (Caliper and Micrometer etc.) and visual CMM and touch probe inspection equipment.
* Dimensional Metrology Equipment: Coordinate Measuring Machines; Automated Probe Instruments; Measuring Tables; Gage Calibration Equipment; Gage Block Comparators; Micrometers & Supermicrometers; Bearing Measurement Instruments; Digital Laser Measuring Machines; Surface Scanners; Laser Interfero The Quality/CMM Engineer supports efforts and plans to coordinates the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards for Colson Group worldwide. * Develop and report First Article Inspections.
* Perform inspections (receiving, in-process, final product) for compliance to specifications from drawings, job tickets, samples, etc.
* Responsible for reading blueprints to ensure machined components meets specifications.
* Develop and maintain part setup utilizing CMM fixturing for more precise measurements and consistent setups.
* Create CMM programs for new and existing parts (Mitutoyo CMM equipment with CCOSMOS).
* Provide programming and fixture design for new parts and tools.
* Conduct capability studies from CMMs.
* Perform statistical analysis of data in software on CMM.
* Support continuous improvement of CMM programs.
* Monitor and ensure that all internal gages are calibrated.
* Maintain accurate documentation and inspection logs.
* Conduct Gage Reliability and Repeatability studies as needed.
* Drive Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods for analyzing data as needed.
* Assist CPAR quality reporting process and related follow through for Kerth plant as needed.
* Implement continuous improvement activities identified by Quality Manager as related to product quality.
* Maintains quality control objectives, and coordinates objectives with production procedures in order to maximize quality, reliability and minimize costs.
* Investigates customer complaints regarding quality and makes appropriate adjustments.
* Collaborates with Engineering, Operations, and ISCs on daily basis for project planning and resolution of complaint cases.
* Willingness to travel up to 10% - customers and internal.
* Follow directive from Quality Manager for Quality Assurance systems to ensure compliance with standards of ISO9001:2015 and associated testing standards.
* Ensure that quality related product risks are adequately controlled in accordance with internal requirements and customer expectations.
* Act as a Kerth point of contact for product quality escalations internally and externally as needed.
* Follow directives for maintaining and improving departmental operational performance to meet the requirements of regulatory authorities, company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), external / internal customers, with respect to quality, service, lead time and cost.
* Development of departmental SOPs (writing, revising and approving), ensuring regulatory compliance in conjunction with being 'fit for purpose' operationally and commercially.
* Perform activities in accordance with Colson company SOPs and Health and Safety policies.
* Support internal audit programs in place, perform and report as scheduled as needed.
* Support Part Submission Warrants and customer respective forms for Advance Product Quality Planning
At least 2-5 years' Experience in the following:
* As a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment
* Working with ISO 9001/TS-16949 Compliance
* Progressive quality control responsibilities within an organization
* Experience in CMM programming and utilization for measurements or willingness to learn.
* Experience in gage calibration and control
* Experience with Blue Print Reading
* Experience with Critical Dimensional Studies
* Well versed in GD&T
Education
High School Diploma/Equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred in business or related field required. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, APQP, PPAP and 8D processes. Knowledge of Control Plans, DOE, FMEA's, Root Cause Analysis, Capability Analysis, Probability, etc. Quality Certification - 6 Sigma, and fully familiar with the ISO9001 Standards ideally Lead Auditor training for QMS Assessment.

Work Environment
General Office - Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
Physical Requirements
Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking or up to 10% of the time. Required to walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day.
