Description Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products.Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methodof fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products. Lays out and marks dimensions andreference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts, or uses templates. Sets upand operates fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut,bend, block and form, or straighten materials. Shapes metal material over anvil, block, or other form.Inspects assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications. May monitor and verify quality inaccordance with statistical process or other control procedures and certify/test product.Essential Duties and Responsibilitie• Follow company policies and procedures.• Follow directions and / or instructions, as directed.• Familiar with Internal Customer Interfaces, as defined by the process assigned.• Process forms and document work by utilizing their endorsement, in accordance with the QualityManagement System.• Notify immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing theirduties.• Have a good understanding of blueprints, technical manuals and planningdocuments with normal supervision.• Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete work assigned.• Clean, disassemble and identify components, with normal supervision.• Accomplish basic repairs with normal supervision.• Apply different type's conversion coatings and sealants using different types oftools and methods with normal supervision.• Work in conjunction with higher grade Mechanics to further their job knowledgebase through OJT with normal supervision.• Cleans work area, when required with minimal supervision.• Other various duties as needed or assigned.Qualifications Considerable knowledge of the job. Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
