Benefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offThe Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse (CADA) is seeking an Adult Residential Treatment Nurse to join its Adult Residential Treatment Center in Santa Barbara .CADA is a leading provider of life-changing treatment to adults struggling with drug and/or alcohol abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. This is an interesting and rewarding position working with adults who need residential care to begin their recovery from drugs and/or alcohol. We work with adults who are self-referred, referred from an outside source, and/or court mandated. Be a part of a robust team of Alcohol and Drug Counselors and Therapists assisting individuals in the residential setting.This position involves conducting screenings and conducting intake assessments to determine the appropriate level of care in consultation with the physician and ensuring the smooth integration of clients into treatment. The focus of this role is to provide high-quality care and support, creating a safe and nurturing environment for clients.Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent: A minimum educational requirement to demonstrate basic literacy and communication skills.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field desirable.Must hold an RN (Registered Nurse) or LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) license.Previous experience in a healthcare or social service setting.Knowledge of healthcare services, substance abuse treatment, and homelessness issues.Prior experience working directly with individuals experiencing homelessness or substance abuse can provide valuable insight and knowledge.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.Crisis intervention skills and capacity to handle crisis situations and de-escalate conflicts.Empathy and compassion: Ability to demonstrating compassion, empathy and understanding for clients.Ability to work in a team in cooperation with other staff, volunteers, and external agencies.Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Google)Responsibilities:Assisting clients with education on daily health and hygiene, such as nutrition, bathing, dressing, and physical exercise.Carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with agency policy and procedures and applicable City, County, State and Federal Laws.Compile and submit monthly reports as instructed by the Director.Connecting clients with referrals and resources.Educating clients and family members on the risks, consequences, and recovery options for substance abuse disorders.Ensure that staff are provided with proper training and are well-equipped to fulfill their roles effectively and contribute to the program's success.Ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, well-stocked, and compliant state, following state regulations.Inform and assist clients with obtaining benefits such as Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT) services and other prescription drug assistance.Linking clients to healthcare providers and other network organizations.Maintain accurate health records using our electronic health record system.Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records and progress notes. Assisting staff with clinical records through detailed documentation.Maintaining accurate documentation and updating patient records.Monitor medication administration to clients as prescribed by healthcare professionals. Ensure proper documentation and adherence to medication schedules, and monitor any side effects or reactions.Organizing and/or leading support groups.Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.Proactively identifying any unmet needs or concerns among clients and taking appropriate actions to address them promptly.Provide culturally competent care that comprehensively considers the physiological, psychological, and spiritual aspects of health.Providing support for clients and their loved ones for emotional, psychological, and physical symptoms.Regularly evaluating patient progress, including blood pressures, and using the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) and Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment Alcohol Scale (CIWA) to determine withdrawal risks.Responsible for attending staff meetings, ensuring timely completion of training, and accurately completing timecards.Transporting clients in the agency-provided vehicle for appointments as required.Working closely with healthcare providers, case managers, and social service agencies to coordinate and oversee clients' medical care, follow-up appointments, and other support services.This is a Full-Time position, 32-40 hours per week. This is an in-person position, and a successful candidate would be required onsite in Santa Barbara.
