In this role, you will provide confidential and high-impact leadership across a broad range of HR functions, including compliance, policy interpretation, talent acquisition, employee relations, leave administration, and benefits management. Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct the daily operations of the HR department, prioritizing recruitment, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in line with organizational values.
- Provide professional supervision and guidance to the HR team, including payroll management.
- Uphold confidentiality and discretion in all personnel matters, advocating for employees while modeling adherence to policies, workplace safety, and ethical behavior.
- Design and lead employee engagement programs that enhance workplace culture.
- Train managers on best practices in recruitment, interviewing, talent management, and employee performance.
- Promote leadership development and career growth opportunities for staff.
- Collaborate with both local and national recruitment platforms to attract and retain high-quality talent.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including those related to medical leave and workplace safety (OSHA, FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, EEO, and related regulations).
- Occasional travel required to other office locations in Upstate New York; no overnight stays necessary.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management is required.
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
- Knowledge of NYS and Federal wage and hour rules, FMLA, NYS disability, workers' compensation, EEO and compliance reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within teams at various organizational levels.
- A professional and customer-focused demeanor when interacting with employees, clients, and external partners.
- Solid knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations, particularly in wage and hour rules, medical leave, and equal employment practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new internal systems.
- Familiarity with Paycom payroll software is preferred but not required.
Salary Range
$75,000-$85,000
