About the Company - We are a Traumatic Brain Injury Center with offices in Elmhurst, Brooklyn Heights and Manhattan. We are looking for a Licensed Psychiatry Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, preferably but not necessary bilingual English/Spanish to join our growing team of medical professionals to work at our Manhattan Center.

About the Role - Your duties will include recording patients' medical histories, performing psychiatric evaluations, administering diagnostic tests, and creating patient care plans. You will also administer treatment and observe patients' functioning over time. This is an In-Person position.

Responsibilities -

  • Health screenings and monitoring
  • Providing psychiatric and at times neuro/psychiatry evaluations, and ongoing medication
  • Participating in ongoing case meeting with the treatment team
  • Maintain contact with and participate in supervision with the Neurologist and/or Psychiatrist when applicable
  • Maintain updated clinical records in Electronic Health Records
  • Process medication requests and prior authorization requests
  • Obtain outside medical records from outside providers
  • Conduct telephone triage (during office hours)

Qualifications -

  • A Nurse Practitioner degree with specialized training or experience in Psychiatry
  • A current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the State of New York
  • Masters degree from an accredited nursing program
  • RN licensure in New York State and board-certified by either ANCC or AANP
  • APN authorization in the state of New York to practice in family health by the Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Prescriptive authorization
  • DEA License
  • Experience providing primary care as a family nurse practitioner
  • Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work
  • Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology
  • A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English (and Spanish if you have it)
  • Knowledge of disease prevention
