Job Posting: Supervisor of Attendance Quincy Public Schools Position: Supervisor of Attendance Location: Quincy, MA Type: Full-Time About Quincy Public Schools: Quincy Public Schools (QPS) is committed to providing a high-quality education to all students. We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Supervisor of Attendance to join our team. Position Overview: The Supervisor of Attendance is responsible for overseeing student attendance and residency verification within the Quincy Public Schools district. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that all students have access to the education they are entitled to by verifying residency and supporting consistent student attendance. Work Year: Follows 183-day School Year Calendar for Educators plus 20 days; total 203 days. Work Day: 8-Hour Work Day; some evening and weekend work. Key Responsibilities: Residency Verification: Conduct thorough investigations to verify student residency within the district. Collaborate with families, school staff, and community agencies to ensure accurate residency information. Maintain up-to-date records of residency verification processes and outcomes. Address and resolve residency disputes in a timely and professional manner. Supporting Student Attendance: Monitor student attendance data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of concern. Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance rates across the district. Work closely with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to address attendance issues and support at-risk students. Communicate with families to provide resources and support for improving student attendance. Prepare and present attendance reports to district leadership and other stakeholders. Collaboration and Communication: Serve as a liaison between the district and families, providing clear and effective communication regarding attendance policies and procedures. Coordinate with community organizations and agencies to provide additional support for students and families. Participate in district-wide initiatives and committees focused on attendance improvement and student support. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with state and district policies related to student attendance and residency. Maintain accurate and confidential records related to attendance and residency verification. Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 3 years of experience in an educational setting, with a focus on student support or attendance. Strong understanding of state and district policies regarding student attendance and residency. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
