Position Summary: The Analyst, Onboard Revenue and Pre-Cruise: Strategy, Performance and Pricing will implement pricing analytics and pricing administration. Deliver timely, clear, actionable, and reliable analytics to deliver pricing and margin optimization via pricing measures while also overseeing the pricing and product in the systems. This role requires combining an analytical and sales-oriented mindset. As well as delivering presentations and reports that simplify complex information and processes. The Analyst will be accountable for the analytics and performance assessments of $1billion in gross onboard revenues, and growing, including by not limited to tour revenue, dining, beverage, destination experiences, pre and post packages, internet, spa, retail, photo, amenities, packages, and onboard experiences for pay. The Analyst will be assigned a specific product, region, or ship class to own the reporting, analytics, and price monitoring. This role will create and recommend forward looking product recommendations and revenue accelerators. The analyst implements the promotional strategy and promotional tactics of pre-cruise revenue.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Part of a high-performing team, focused on forward-looking commercial and promotional revenue activities.
- Accountable for decision-making through critical thinking and quantitative/qualitative analysis, along with the effective communication of concepts, results, and potential impacts.
- Supports Pre-cruise revenue management strategies along with the implementation of these practices resulting in revenue optimization.
- Accountable for the pricing process for Onboard Revenue and Pre-Cruise includes opportunity identification, pricing planning, price forecasting and tracking and reporting.
- Reports on performance trends for all areas of onboard revenue.
- Reports business performance to assess the current performance and to understand business risks to meet year-end goals.
- Maintains the pricing strategy models across different regions and target demographics.
- Maintains the price lists for different product platforms and channels of distribution to provide guidance on the right price levels to use.
- Develops presentations and analysis that can drive decisions and facilitate action.
- Strong story telling skills that can develop presentations, training and written memos to provide tools to the senior leadership to make effective decisions.
- Delivers on the Pre-Cruise promotional calendar, promotional tactics, and promotion KPIs.
- Actions the pre cruise promotional calendar with Marketing and Sales partners.
- Participates in the governance of all new and existing Pre-cruise products and promotions in a manner that is in line with the brand standards and messaging.
- Participates in the governance between Digital, IT, Ecommerce and Onboard Revenue to ensure the systems and technology is keeping up with the needs of trends related to Onboard Revenue and Pre-Cruise.
- Understands complex commercial pricing models, leveraging data and analytics to develop and execute pricing strategies across various categories, suppliers, and customer segments.
- Responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to understand product value proposition, current or proposed price points, data gathering and cleansing, deep dive advanced statistical analysis/modeling and recommendations to optimize the performance of pricing strategies and tactics.
Financial Responsibilities - Supports the monitoring of performance, trends, and benchmarks on onboard revenue.
- Monitor the profit margins for this business are aligned with the profitability goals of the brand.
- Implements the pricing strategies to achieve the pre-cruise revenue goals for Celebrity Cruises.
Qualifications and Education: - Bachelor's degree (BA) with a degree focus in Business, Finance or other quantitative discipline preferred.
- Knowledge of revenue management and demand forecasting.
- Operations Research modeling skills (optimization and linear programming, etc.).
- Statistical modeling skills (regression and forecasting, etc.)
- Database and analytical programming skills (including SAS and SQL, etc.).
- Project management experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of the business to validate findings and conclusions and always ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Understanding of database design and information systems, structure, functions and processes, and experience with database tools
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Knowledge and Skills - Able to understand and evaluate complex issues and devise and implement successful solutions.
