Position Summary: Execute goals and objectives set by the Operations Supervisor/Manager to ensure a working environment conducive to team work and individual motivation. Effectively carry on work assignments as directed. Manually move, stack, unstack, and otherwise manipulate packages to prepare them for transport or storage within the warehouse. Operate warehouse equipment to include powered forklift equipment in an effort to effectively move product into, out of and around a distribution center. Effectively process relevant written and verbal communication to ensure that all tasks are completed effectively. Acts as a backup for the Junior Operations and Operations Supervisors. Provides guidance, support and direction to other employees in performance of duties. Sets an example for others. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
  • Comply with the Company's attendance/tardiness standards
  • Day to day running of multiple facets of the distribution center ensuring that all receiving and shipments are done in accordance to customer needs and company standards
  • Assist with setting the operating budgets for buildings ensuring budgets are achieved
  • Responsible for contract negotiations and landlord disputes
  • Ensure cycle counting and inventory procedures are in place and adhered to in order to improve inventory accuracy and reduce inefficiencies in operations
  • Creation and implementation of on-going procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance to all corporate, regulatory and safety directives
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has minimal supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications: In order to perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 3 or more years shipping dock experience
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment
  • 3 or more years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of full truck load and LTL loading processes
  • 3 or more years RF and WMS experience
  • Ability to use a computer, word processing, and spreadsheet software
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Two to three years of work-related experience to include equipment operations. Some experience in lead position of any type. Light data entry skills required. Language Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to compose reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate information in verbal or written format and effectively respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, employees, customers and the general public.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages as well as draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to correctly read, interpret and process lengthy strings of individual digits in their correct order.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
