Job Summary:

The Staff Scheduler is responsible for assisting with staff scheduling of the Nursing Department. This role also handles some employee relations functions! You will be assisting with coordinating an effective schedule under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. Will work directly with nursing supervisors on shift-specific nursing care hour needs. Must be a CNA!

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Schedules all nursing staff and prepares weekly nursing schedule. Notifies staff of schedule and necessary schedule changes.
  • Receives incoming calls and directs appropriately in order to address nursing scheduling issues. Notifies the Nursing Administration when there is a lack of appropriate staff availability or staff conflict regarding the schedule.
  • Obtains permission from the Dir. of Nursing/Administrator prior to scheduling overtime or nursing registry personnel.
  • Adjusts schedules as needed to accommodate changes, i.e., illness, vacation, PTO days, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Nursing Administration daily to ensure adequate and appropriate staff is allocated.
  • Assists nursing office with clinical management tasks as needed.
  • Assists payroll manager with processing of weekly payroll and appropriate nursing hours.
  • Assist with employee relations and HR other functions
  • Other duties as assigned by the Administrator

Job Requirements:

  • Must have an active Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) License
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Experience preferred.
