Program Overview:

The Safe Housing Program for Formerly Incarcerated Women is dedicated to supporting women

in their successful reentry into society by providing safe housing, advocacy, case management,

workforce development, and family reunification services. The program's mission is to empower

women to rebuild their lives, foster independence, and break the cycle of recidivism.

Position Overview:

The Director of Housing Services will provide leadership and overall management for the

program. This role requires a dynamic leader with a passion for criminal justice reform, women's

empowerment, and social services. The Director of Housing Services will implement A New

Way of Life Reentry Project SAFE Housing model and program in New Orleans, including, staff

management, partnership building, and advocacy efforts to ensure the program meets its goals of

providing critical support to formerly incarcerated women.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Development

  • Provide strategic implementation of ANWOL SAFE model, including's housing, advocacy, case management, workforce development, and family reunification services.
  • Develop and implement programs that meet the unique needs of formerly incarcerated women, ensuring a trauma-informed and client-centered approach.
  • Collaborate with staff to set program goals, track outcomes, and adjust strategies to improve service delivery and client success.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and best practices for transitional housing and reentry programs.

Advocacy & Partnerships

  • Act as a primary spokesperson for the organization, building relationships with local, state, and national stakeholders, including sheriffs, prisons, non-profits, and community groups.
  • Advocate for policies that support the needs of formerly incarcerated women and promote criminal justice reform.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with workforce development agencies, housing authorities, and other community resources to provide comprehensive services for program participants.

Resource Development & Data Management

  • Works with the development team to maintain data to meet program goals and ensure that all funding requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and supporters, ensuring the sustainability of the program.
  • Oversee grant reporting

Staff Management & Supervision

  • Hire, train, and supervise program staff, including case managers, housing coordinators, and support staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide mentorship, and ensure staff have the resources needed to succeed.

Client Services & Case Management Oversight

  • Ensure that all clients receive individualized case management and support services that address their housing, employment, legal, and family reunification needs.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust program offerings as needed to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Develop policies and procedures that ensure the safety, dignity, and privacy of all clients.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience in a social service, criminal justice, or non-profit organization, with at least 3 years in a management or executive role
  • Proven track record of working with marginalized populations, particularly justice-involved women, reentry services, or transitional housing programs.
  • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and budget management.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and advocacy.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profits, and donors.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, case management, and workforce development practices.
