Stay safe and protect your personal information.Acuity is currently seeking Registered Nurse specializing in Med/Surg to support our Middle East program.Location: Deploying to Balad, IraqJob Summary:Acuity International is currently seeking a Registered Nurse- Med/Surg to support our Middle East program. The registered nurse will be assigned to deliver health care and treat patients in a small austere medical/trauma hospital. Nurses report to the onsite nursing supervisor. They are clinically supervised by the site medical director and work under the direction of a local or mid-level provider.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides medical services at the scope and level of a registered nurse to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
  • Implementing treatment plans and options for various life-threatening medical conditions.
  • Utilization and understanding of how to use various medical devices, such as catheters and feeding tubes.
  • Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocol, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.
  • Thoroughly exercises skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making daily.
  • Makes independent judgments and prioritizes workload.
  • Attends and participates in all hospital exercises, group activities and meetings.
  • Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and fast paced environment.
  • Pursues professional development activities and continuing education to ensure currency with present practices and trends in healthcare and specifically in the practice of emergency medical treatment.
  • Participate as a medical escort for employees being transported off base by ground or flight.
  • Cross-train to work in clinics and emergency room as needed.
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Requires an associate degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted Nursing License and the ability to be favorability credentialed.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and ACLS certification required.
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment.
  • All healthcare providers and medical support staff must have a recent clinical experience in patient care for a least 6 months out of the past year.
  • Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must have a current U.S. Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
  • Must sign an International Assignment Agreement (IAA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the IAA.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Additional clinical experience in emergency room, ICU or OR preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  • Required to be confirmed by a medical examination to be medically and dentally fit in accordance Acuity Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client.
  • Work may involve sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel in Iraq is required by surface or air.
  • The climate is desert-like, hot, and prone to dust storms.
