JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Geosciences at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Position, available starting December 2024. The Postdoctoral Scholar will join a Penn State-UC Riverside team investigating the Paleocene-Eocene Climate Maximum. The Postdoctoral Scholar will analyze natural samples over the event and work with colleagues to apply a range of modeling tools to the interpretation of the data.The candidate for this position should have:
+ A strong working knowledge of isotopic geochemistry, including thermal ionization mass spectrometry and the use of isotopic double spikes.
+ Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience with the analysis of metal isotopes and quantitative data analysis.
+ Must have a Ph.D. in geochemistry or geology.
+ Candidates must have demonstrated effective writing skills in high-quality publications.
The Postdoctoral Scholar will work under the primary supervision of Matthew Fantle.
