Material Handler The Material Handlers will assist in the shipment of products to our customers, receive materials from vendors, manage inventory, and SAP transactions that are required to move inventory, process or confirm receipts and shipments. This position works closely with scheduling, sales and purchasing to meet expected ship dates to customers and receive material required for production. Duties and responsibilities
  • Loading & Unloading trucks, preparing materials for shipment
  • Interact with operations, commercial team and supply chain
  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments to include:
    • assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage
  • Coordinate shipment of materials with 3rd party
  • Determine the type and amount of goods to be shipped based on customer orders and verification of accuracy and completeness of shipment.
  • Determine the proper package and proper packing of all material for safe shipment and mode of shipment to be used.
  • Prepare product for export shipments
  • Maintain quality output and initiate any adjustments or actions required
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the work area
  • Report maintenance requirements on the equipment used
  • Work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Lift Truck license
  • Must complete and pass the course on Transportation of Hazardous Material D.O.T. (Department of Transportation) training within 90 days of job acceptance. I.A.T.A. (International Air Transportation Association) training , OSHA ten hour training, Hazmat incident training, and Chemical-terrorism Vulnerability Information Authorized user training (CVI) will follow.
  • Must have strong computer skills, SAP use of inventory & shipment transactions
  • Must be able to interpret and understand written and verbal instructions
  • The ability to recognize hazardous material from non-hazardous material. Knowledge in shipping DOT; IATA.
  • Must have computer knowledge and the ability to type at least 40 WPM
  • The ability to work under pressure with daily deadline
