Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for facilitating a variety of inbound or outbound functions of processing merchandise for fulfilling customer orders. These tasks must be completed to an efficient and accurate standard to ensure smooth operations. These positions require use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment. Some, but not all, roles may include Powered Industrial Trucks. Hours: Mon-Fri 7am-5:30pm. Inbound:
- Unload live domestic deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment, or unload import containers by hand
- Use our ERP system to systematically receive inventory accurately and efficiency, ready to be placed in storage racking
- Move palletized product using pallet jacks/forklift equipment to organize the receiving dock, or transport product to other areas of the Distribution center
- Scan and place inventory in racking locations using forklift equipment and a handheld scanning device, ready for warehouse operations
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
- Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership
- Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
- Abide by all company and warehouse policies?
- Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation
Outbound:
- Pulling warehouse stock to fulfill orders as they are processed to ensure that customers receive orders in a short time frame and as accurately as possible.
- Completing orders so that they can be shipped in full to the customer.
- Safely operating and maintaining warehouse equipment to carry out job duties to ensure a safe work environment
- Utilizing various hand tools to successfully complete job duties
- Keeping work zone clean and orderly so that the warehouse is a safe and clean work environment
- Communicating with Manager with any issues or concerns that arise regarding work duties
- Operate handheld electronic devices to scan and record picks
- Meeting all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly performance metrics
- Working in a team environment
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
