Location: On-site east coast position, client will provide relocation from anywhere in U.S.

Pay: $250,000+ w/ bonus (DOE)

SUMMARY:This senior executive role is focused on driving sustainable growth, profitability, and strategic development. We are seeking a visionary leader with strong business acumen, outstanding communication skills, and a collaborative approach to partner with executives and teams in achieving company goals. This position will be responsible for formulating and executing policies, strategies, and procedures to strengthen the company's market position, operational efficiency, and financial success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Define and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and business opportunities to support long-term strategic planning.
  • Set clear goals, objectives, and performance metrics to drive growth, profitability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader at industry events and networking opportunities.

Operational and Financial Management:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure the achievement of revenue, profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Develop and manage budgets collaboratively with executives, focusing on accurate forecasting, resource allocation, and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards.
  • Optimize operational metrics such as on-time delivery, quality rates, and fuel consumption.
  • Oversee fleet management, including maintenance, fuel efficiency, and driver safety initiatives.
  • Drive effective driver recruitment, training, and retention strategies.
  • Identify strategic investment opportunities to enhance company growth and enterprise value for board consideration.

Team Leadership & Culture Development:

  • Lead and nurture a high-performing team that embodies collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Mentor and develop talent to ensure the organization has the capabilities to achieve its strategic goals.
  • Foster alignment and engagement within the organization, promoting values, ethics, and a positive work culture.

Business Development & Customer Relations:

  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to support long-term success and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead business development efforts, including market expansion, new service introductions, pricing strategy, and strategic partnerships.
  • Serve as the companys spokesperson, highlighting the company's strengths and competitive advantages.

Performance Analysis & Reporting:

  • Establish, monitor, and analyze financial and operational metrics, providing regular reports to the CEO and board.
  • Identify areas for improvement and maintain a proactive approach to sustaining growth.
  • Conduct periodic strategy reviews to ensure adaptability to market conditions and evolving business goals.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA.
  • Develop and implement policies to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to operational and financial performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is advantageous.
  • 10+ years of senior management experience, ideally as a VP, GM, or Director in the transportation, logistics, or supply chain sectors.
  • Proficiency with logistics and fleet management technology, along with knowledge of digital transformation trends.
  • Deep familiarity with transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Strong decision-making skills, particularly under pressure.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on quality, reliability, and efficiency.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic industry.
  • Commitment to innovation, customer service, and sustainable practices in transportation.

TRAVEL:

  • Travel requirements include up to 50% within company locations across the U.S. and Canada.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing job duties, the employee may need to sit or stand for extended periods, walk frequently, and occasionally lift or push objects up to 25 lbs. Specific requirements include reading from computer screens and printed materials, and clear verbal and auditory communication.
