Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team located in Fairfield, California. This role is centered around the management and processing of carrier invoices within the freight industry. This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities:- Manage and process carrier invoice approvals in Transportation Management System and schedule invoices for payment manually.- Execute accurate payment coding, including application of Landed Cost in the journal ledger for both domestic and international freight carriers.- Contribute to month-end and year-end closings by providing critical data insights, aiding in accurate financial forecasting.- Maintain precise records of freight invoices in a centralized repository.- Import and post carrier invoices from Transportation Management System into the ERP.- Reconcile freight vendor accounts and verify the accuracy of invoices.- Investigate and reconcile invoice discrepancies directly with vendors and other internal departments.- Handle heavy data entry into systems.- Assist in the development of the Transportation Management System as needed.- Offer support to transportation and accounting team members as required. Requirements - Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)- Experience with Check Runs- Understanding of Coding Invoices- Proficient in Data Entry tasks- Familiarity with Invoice Processing- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel- Knowledge of Oracle- Proficiency in QuickBooks- Experience with SAP- Ability to perform Account Reconciliation efficiently- Proven track record of maintaining accurate financial records and data- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills- Ability to handle confidential information- Ability to work independently and in a team environment- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field would be advantageousRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
