What We Do Enable your skills coordinating with others, detail orientation and desire to work with a team to ensure information is in order and properly prepared. First American is looking to add a Sr. Commercial Underwriting Assistant to our growing team in New York. In this role, you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting supporting our Underwriting team in a wide range of duties including creating and maintaining settlement statements and documenting research. This position plays a key role in coordinating the resolution and completion of the title process.
What You'll Do: - Create settlement statements in a timely and accurate fashion
- Create and proofread title policies, invoicing, revisions to our commitment and performance using company software and survey readings
- Prepare correspondence as it relates back to title reports/commitments
- Track customer service requests and frequent phone and e-mail correspondence with both the local office and clients
- Order additional searches, requests additional documents as needed by local jurisdiction or practices
- Follow up on recorded documents and policies using offshore as needed
- Create and maintain lien charts for portfolios

- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3-5 years or more of related experience preferred
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for the issuance of title insurance policies
- Familiarity with real estate law is beneficial
- Paralegal Certificate desired but not required
Pay Range: $32.88-$43.83 Hourly This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location. #LI-SD1
