Job DescriptionWe seek a talented and motivated Clinical Research Coordinator to assist in conducting a new NIH-funded multidisclinary study at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the areas of women's mental health and psychoneuroendocrionology. The Clinical Research Coordinator is an entry or mid-level human subjects researcher, responsible for conducting and assisting in human subjects research studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or senior research staff. Primary responsibilities will include recruiting and enrolling participants and conducting study sessions. This position would be a great fit for an individual with strong interpersonal skills who has an interest or background in clinical psychology or psychiatry as strucutured clinical interviews will be conducted and multiple mood assessments will be administered. Performing phlebotomy and travel for study visits taking place in the home will be required. Training in phlebotomy will be offered, however prior experience in phlebotomy is preferred. Additionally, the individual will assist in the preparation and submission of applications (e.g., Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office), research articles for publication, and data to meet archiving requirements. Some data management and analysis will be expected, and there will be opportunities for presenting research, both in lab and at national conferences.The majority of the individual's time and effort will be allocated to conducting the funded study as described above, but the individual also will assist in ongoing lab projects as needed. The position is an excellent opportunity for training and often serves as a stepping stone to graduate school. Highly qualified and enthusiastic candidates are sought with previous experience and interest in any of the following: clinical and health psychology/neuroscience, women's mental health, reproductive psychiatry and psychoneuroendocrionology.ResponsibilitiesConducts human subjects research including, but not limited to: recruiting participants, screening participants for eligibility and obtaining informed consent.Assists in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation. Maintains source documents and subject files in accordance with Mount Sinai policies and procedures. Ensures accurate, confidential and complete compilation of data.May secure and ship clinical specimens as required by the protocol.Performs other related duties including supporting efforts in grant preparation and journal article publication.QualificationsBachelors degree in psychology, neuroscience or related field preferred, or a combination of relevant research experience and education. 1-2 years of research/human subjects experience, previous research/human subjects experience preferred, previous phlebotomy experience preferred.About UsStrength Through Diversity The Mount Sinai Health System believes that diversity, equity, and inclusion are key drivers for excellence.
