We strive to gather data and information to ensure high quality community based, cost effective member services and create a network of sufficient size to recruit and retain the best staff talent.Position Summary:This position will act as a representative of HHP's 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline with a goal of building relationships, systems and partnerships with 911, Rhode Island First Responders, Public Safety Answering Point (PSAPs) and Municipalities. The 988/911 Coordinating Community Liaison will also ensure appropriate access to crisis services and referrals to meet the behavioral health needs of all Rhode Islanders. Promotes the Horizon Healthcare Partners' goal to divert mental health crisis situations from emergency rooms, police, fire departments, etc., to a more supportive, appropriate care environment through the 988 call center systemQualifications:•Bachelor's degree and/or five years related work experience •Leadership experience within the First Responder environment and/or PSAP field •Strong sense of self, positive attitude and an inspirational presence possessing a solid workethic •Strong communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator •Possess leadership skills to motivate and encourage others to work towards Horizon HealthcarePartners' goals •Ability to work well independently or as part of a team •Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work and engage with a wide range of people fromdiverse social, ethnic and professional backgrounds •Awareness of behavioral health systems •Experience with community outreach; successfully engaging larger groups as well as smallgroup conversations within the non-profit sector •Possess a strong understanding of Horizon Healthcare Partners and all communities served •Unwavering commitment to Horizon Healthcare Partners' mission statement and purposeResponsibilities:•Serves as a liaison in the design and implementation of 988 service coordination systems alongside local municipalities, first responder departments, PSAPs and/or 911 administrators•Identifies and highlights gaps, barriers and strengths in communications systems and procedures across municipalities, agencies and departments•Assists in the development and ongoing evaluation of a 988 process improvement plan which includes measurable objectives and milestones•Supports network development of behavioral health mobile crisis response services by cultivating relationships and protocols with local community mental health centers, including their emergency services departments and mobile crisis units•Assists in the development, execution, and ongoing evaluation of formal agreements between the 988 call center and existing or prospective collaborators of Rhode Island's local 988 network•Integrates models of community-based behavioral health response to establish streamlined and person-centered systems that emphasizes diversion from unnecessary police contact•Liaison to the First Responders, PSAPs and municipalities for Horizon Healthcare Partners Mobile Crisis Services, Behavioral Health Link emergency services, 988 call center services and other Horizon Healthcare Partners municipality-based services•Executes a strategy to increase and foster active relationships with providers, first responders and other Rhode Island municipal stakeholders•Builds and maintains ongoing collaboration within the municipalities with the goal of establishing policy and protocols for diversion of appropriate crisis calls to 988
