Influence the Influential with Captivate. The Opportunity: Art Director At Captivate, we believe that to create something truly meaningful, you must start with a strong idea. As the Art Director, you will be the driving force behind transforming bold concepts into captivating visual experiences that engage, inspire, and connect with our high-value audiences. You will lead the creative vision for Captivate's digital media network, ensuring that every piece of content-from video activations to interactive designs-delivers impact. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ideate, design, and execute compelling visual stories for Captivate & Captivate's clients. Your innovative mindset will help redefine how we connect brands with decision-makers at the most opportune moments, when key decisions are being made. This position is ideal for a forward-thinking, detail-oriented creative who is passionate about turning strong ideas into meaningful, impactful designs. Salary Range: $100,000 - 120,000 per year. What You'll Do: Lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of digital media, ensuring it aligns with Captivate's audience and campaign objectives, including artistic direction & deliverables for video, digital display ads, motion graphics, and others, such as:
- Client/Creative: Client ad mock-ups, concept storyboards/briefs, and potentially lend a hand with production-side work
- One-Pagers, Core & Category decks: Near-term sales collateral, bringing together input of sales & marketing to develop
- Other visuals: Create visuals, graphics, house ads, etc. along with creatives in front-end, sales dev and marketing
- Understand & deliver visuals against marketing initiatives, strategic positioning and target audience, including sketches, storyboards & art layouts
- Serve as a creative & visual contributor in internal or client brainstorms. Engage in meetings as the point-person on creative strategy & deliver innovative & technically executable creative concepts.
- Be the bridge & connector between the business, designers and front-end developers, by translating the art of the possible from front-end technical limitations into creative concepts.
- Work closely with the content, marketing, and product teams to brainstorm and execute new creative campaigns and digital media experiences that enhance audience engagement and reinforce Captivate's premium, brand-safe environments.
- Ensure all creative assets adhere to brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity. Serve as a key ambassador for the Captivate brand, ensuring the integrity of our visual presence across all platforms and touchpoints.
- Leverage industry best practices and emerging design trends to create forward-thinking and impactful visuals. Utilize motion design and interactive media to enhance the digital experience for audiences in office and residential environments.
- Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to create visually compelling advertising campaigns, presentations, and pitch decks that drive client engagement and revenue growth.
- Partner with internal teams, external agencies, and freelance resources as needed to execute large-scale projects, ensuring clear communication and adherence to timelines.
- Support Captivate's mission to reduce its environmental impact through creative storytelling that promotes sustainability initiatives. Develop visuals for eco-friendly messaging that inspires eco-conscious behaviors in our audiences.
- Ensure that all creative outputs reflect Captivate's commitment to inclusivity and diversity. Amplify voices and stories that represent the company's value of real people with visible and invisible differences.
- Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of all assets. Set project goals, manage timelines, and track progress to ensure efficient execution of all initiatives.
What You Bring:
- Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in art direction, multimedia design, or a related creative field. Experience within digital media, advertising, or content creation environments is a strong plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Visual Communication, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
- Strong skills in video production, motion graphics, and digital animation.
- Knowledge of web design principles, UI/UX design, and interactive media.
- Creativity & Innovation: A deep understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and current design trends. The ability to push creative boundaries and propose unique visual solutions.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Project Management: Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering high-quality creative assets under tight deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail, ensuring that all creative outputs meet the highest standard of quality and brand consistency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising or media networks.
- Familiarity with content creation for diverse platforms, including mobile, desktop, and large digital displays.
- Passion for sustainability, with a portfolio that includes creative storytelling around eco-friendly initiatives.
