Performs a variety of Milk Lab duties, including but not limited to: reconstitution and fortification of specialized formula, centrifugation and analysis of human milk lipid concentration and caloric density, human milk pasteurization, human milk and formula delivery, medical food and product inventory management, utilization of electronic health record and milk management software, interdisciplinary communication with nursing, Registered Dietitians, medical providers, Dietetic Technicians, and Lactation Consultants. Safely clean and operate a variety of biomedical preparation and production equipment. Interpret, implement and follow Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point safety regulations and infection control protocols and policies. Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff according to hospital and department expectations. Demonstrates understanding of rationale and downstream impacts of work and advocates for the responsible and efficient use of resources, including use of human milk. Contributes to the development and updating of standard work as well as peer-to-peer feedback ensuring compliance with these tools. Demonstrates high level of professionalism and problem solving abilities related to ensuring order in electronic health record is accurate, feeding supply is adequate with special attention to procedures, tolerance and advancements, timeliness of production schedule and advocates for breast milk management that prevents waste. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and ExperienceAssociate Degree required OR one of the following credentials may substitute: Dietetic Technician Registered, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician, or Certified Medical Assistant.Required Credentials N/A.PreferredDemonstrated prior quality improvement experience in a healthcare position.Pediatric or previous hospital experience.Compensation Range$24.16 - $36.24 per hourSalary InformationThis compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year).
