DescriptionPrime Source Foods is pleased to announce that we are seeking a Yard Jockey, who will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of trailers within our distribution yard.This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and organization. As a valued team member, you will contribute to the seamless operation of our supply chain, supporting the delivery of top-quality food products to our valued customers.Requirements* Must have a valid Driver's License and be familiar with the basic operation of all PSF vehicles including Yard trucks, tractor-trailers, straight trucks, delivery vans, and company cars.* Must be authorized to work in the U.S. as we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship.* Must be able to work Monday - Friday, 11 am to 7 pm with Sunday rotation for dock set up.* Safely and timely move all vehicles around the facility as dictated by the shipping / receiving process or instructed by their supervisor.* Maintain the truck wash building and all the equipment within.* Responsible for the daily washing of the interior of the cargo box.* Ensure that all vehicle block heaters are plugged in from November 15th until April 1st, unless otherwise directed by Management. *Drivers may be called on to jump-start units if needed.* Ensure that all vehicle plug-ins are clear of snow and ice and that plug cords are coiled up after each use and placed back inside the truck cabin.* Adhere to a safe speed when moving company vehicles in the yard.* Pick up any garbage or litter that they spot during their normal duties and deposit it in the proper container.* Report to their supervisor any truck that needs repair or has been recently damaged so it may be recorded and investigated by management.* Direct all outside repair vendors to their supervisor so that repairs may be documented, and routing schedule changes can be made if needed.* Ensure that all Prime Source Foods trucks and trailer cargo doors are locked and secure.* At the beginning and end of each shift, the Yard Drivers shall conduct a walkthrough of the PSF Grounds and ensure that all Prime Source Foods trucks and trailer cargo doors are locked and secure.* Move required shuttle trailers to doors based on the requests of the warehouse's 2nd shift supervisor (shuttle schedule).Work Environment and Physical Requirements* Demonstrate maneuvers with company vehicles to include safe driving and backing techniques.* Report to work wearing the proper clothing as dictated by the climate outside or work being done in the truck wash.* Take direction from Supervisors and be responsible for carrying out all tasks assigned with minimal supervision.* Operate communication equipment to include closed-circuit radios and/or company tablets.* Recognize any unsafe condition that pertains to their job requirements and report said conditions to their supervisor immediately.* Physically able to enter and exit equipment up to 30 times per hour and operate all fueling and washing equipment associated with the job.* Able to lift, pull, or move a maximum of 100 pounds and repeatedly lift 40 pounds.The PRIME ExampleOur MISSION is to meet our customers' needs by providing cost-competitive center-of-the-plate products with flexible and efficient distribution services.Our VISION is to be New England's most valued provider of center-of-the-plate products through superior sourcing practices, product knowledge, and service options.Our VALUES and success rely on relationships built on trust, fairness, respect, honesty, and teamwork.Perks at its Prime: You'll enjoy great employee appreciation perks including annual employee outings and events, employee appreciation days, Holiday Parties, volunteer opportunities, and more!
