Freelance Branding Designer

Our client, a Jewish nonprofit organization in NYC, is looking for a freelance Branding Designer for an 3-6 months 20-30 hours/week remote contract. In this role, you will collaborate closely with their marketing and creative teams to bring their brand vision to life across various touchpoints. You will play an integral role in completing their brand book and ensuring its consistent application across all communications. This includes creating templates and design frameworks for use in social media, email, print, direct mail, and annual reports. As a Branding Designer, you will bring a strategic approach to branding, drawing on your experience in corporate settings and brand-building initiatives. Your work will empower other creatives within the organization to deliver high-quality, on-brand content.

This is a remote 3-6 month contract working 20-30 hours/week.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to finalize the brand book, defining brand guidelines, visual elements, and usage instructions.
• Develop a strategic plan for the implementation and use of brand assets across multiple channels.
• Create templates and design systems for social media, email, print, direct mail, and annual reports to ensure brand consistency.
• Support other creatives in the application of brand standards across various assets, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
• Participate in brainstorming and creative sessions to evolve the brand's look and feel in alignment with business objectives.
• Conduct ongoing research to stay informed about branding trends, competitive brands, and industry standards.
• Ensure all branding initiatives align with the company's mission, values, and target audience needs.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of proven experience as a Branding Designer in a corporate environment, with a strong portfolio showcasing branding projects.
• Expertise in developing and maintaining brand guidelines, including color, typography, imagery, and tone of voice.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other design tools.
• Experience creating templates and design systems for digital and print channels.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a strategic mindset, with an understanding of how brand visuals support overall business goals.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with the Judaism a huge plus.
