HHA and PCA Responsibilities:

In the role of a HHA and PCA, the primary responsibility involves providing essential support for daily living activities and personal care services in adherence to the patient's prescribed care regimen. These responsibilities may include:

Services Provided:

• Companionship is the provision of emotional support and engagement in conversation to address patients' feelings of loneliness and isolation.

• Daily Living Activities/Household Support

• Meal Preparation & Nutrition: Prepare and provide nutritious meals in accordance with the dietary restrictions outlined in the care plan.

• Personal Care Services

• Mobility Support: Assistance with ambulation and ensuring safety.

• Patient Monitoring

• Medication Reminders

Qualifications and Skills:

• Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Aide (PCA)

• Demonstrated reliability and dependability

• Previous experience in Home Care, nursing, or caregiving is advantageous

• Proficient in communication, with a compassionate and patient approach

• Capable of working independently while adhering to care plans and instructions

• Committed to upholding patient confidentiality and ethical standards

• Flexibility to effectively meet the evolving needs of patients

• Able to establish a secure environment for clients

HHA Requirements for Hiring:

· Home Health Aide Certification

· 2 Forms of ID, Government ID, Work Authorization, etc.

· Physical Assessment within the last 12 months to include TB Screening (Quantiferon/PPD Testing

· Proof of Immunization of MMR

· Flu & COVID vaccines, if received
