8:00am - 4:30pm (flexible)

Overview:

The Autism Navigator at the Mercy Kids Autism Center (MKAC) will serve as a key contact and resource for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, handling intake, triage, and post-diagnosis counseling. They will follow up with families on resources and referrals and may provide individual counseling and behavior management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's Degree in Social Work or Bachelor's degree of Nursing.
  • Licensure: Current LCSW, LMSW, or RN in state of practice.
  • Experience: Three years pediatric care management experience, working with families as well as multidisciplinary team of physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners and therapists.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience: Prior experience with community resources for children with Autism. Experience working with children and families affected by common co-occurring diagnoses and neurodevelopment.
  • Other Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: To effectively support children with Autism, knowledge and experience with community resources are essential, along with familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis and Individual Education Plan Advocacy.• Maintains confidentiality and compliance. Understands relevant policies, displays attention to detail, and ethical decision-making. Has the ability to identify areas for improvement, implement changes effectively.• Demonstrates patient advocacy and communication that involves strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to encourage participation in treatment plans.• Applies effective resource coordination, care management, organizational skills, thorough assessments, and efficient intervention strategies.
