Job Description :

Description: York is hiring a SQL developer for a remote 12+ contract role. Pay rate is $65-$70 w2.Logistics:Type: ContractLocation: RemotePosition Overview:All SQL Tuning for this role.Project Overview:The team works on a slice of the HealthCare application. They have a Custom Reporting Solution (CRS) that was developed years ago, originally having 2 databases with 50 MB of data per and now it is over 20 DB with 10 TB each. This app was not built for this scale. Customers directly use this app to run queries. Their customers include TPA (Third Party Administrators), Banks, etc.Responsibilities/ Required Experience:Customers schedule reports and then schedule them to run. They can run any kind of report. This role will help with tuning stored procedures, SSIS extracts, and deployment. They may get an SR ticket if a query is slow and need to figure it out. Some of the queries and stored procedures were written poorly, so this person will need to be comfortable tuning/fixing some poorly written SQL code. About 80% of the work is reactive tuning and 20% involves pulling reports and typical DBA skills.Team/Department:They have a team that picks up part of the tuning work. This role is for someone who will do tuning 100% of the time. They will pair this person with a current employee to get up to speed and have a support system. They need someone who is comfortable working with both developers and DBAs as this work will cross both teams.Required Skills:SQL Tuning for performance -- Needs to have strong tuning skills specific to SQL Server in both TSQL refactoring and the ability to investigate SQL internals.TSQL-query plans and views (Microsoft's flavor of SQL) -- The ability to read complex query plans and look for optimization is very important as the queries can get very large and produce robust plans.SSIS/SSRS experience -- They don't have very large or complex SSIS packages but they definitely need someone with an SSIS background to assist developers and troubleshoot any failures. SSRS knowledge needs to be strong enough to work with subscriptions, RDL files, and troubleshoot performance around long-running reports.#J-18808-Ljbffr
