Works in collaboration with unit directors and other members of the health care team to provide, enhance or improve care delivery to a specific patient population by evaluating nursing practices, developing methodologies and implementing standards of care, providing consultative services, and by assessing and addressing patient and staff educational needs, in one or more clinical specialty areas. Clinical and professional leadership involves responsibility for innovation and change in patient care system. Research involves responsibility in interpreting and using research, evaluating practice, and collaborating in research. Graduation from an approved school of nursing. BSN required. Master's degree preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina required. BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Knowledge and application of Professional Nursing Theory, practices, and procedures. Excellent clinical practice skills with competence in assessment, judgment, clinical decision making, and delegation. Ability to evaluate and assess needs to staff. Demonstrated leadership ability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with managers, staff, physicians, patients. Ability to perform duties and responsibilities promptly and consistently with little direct supervision in planning and organization his/her work.Minimum of three years' acute care nursing experience required. Critical care experience preferred. Minimum of one year education related experience preferred.
