Your Role

This is an omni channel Art Director position with an emphasis on Still Life and On Figure Fashion Photography. The Editorial Art Director will work with the Creative Director and creative partners in Copy and Design to develop stories, photography and video that engage the customer, drive sales, elevate the brand and support company strategy. The Art Director is responsible for creative leadership of imagery and ownership of multiple projects; ideate innovative imagery for e-commerce and print advertising; produce and attend photo shoots; have layout and design experience; and work closely with Creative Director to continually elevate brand advertising.

What You'll Do

  • Provide leadership to create visually distinctive and engaging imagery for the web, print and video
  • Execute creative in support of NM Brand strategy and initiatives – ie: Brand Elevation, Cross-selling, Key Partner initiatives,
  • Regular Price selling and Newness
  • Maintain and develop the Neiman Marcus brand's personality and style
  • Create Mood and Storyboards to effectively communicate the look and feel of asset creation
  • Execute photo shoots from start to finish, including hiring and managing outside creative resources (photographers, stylists, producers, set design, etc.) and attend/oversee photo shoots to ensure stylist and photographer capture the look
  • Meet deadlines, collaborate with Design and Production on selects and retouching
  • Utilize current and new systems to maximize efficiencies
  • Articulate ideas and demonstrate a willingness to bring new ideas to the forefront frequently
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with strong interest in working with people
  • Assure that all advertising guidelines and regulations are followed
  • Exhibit attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy

What You Bring

  • 5+ years professional experience in Photo Art Direction, and Print Design
  • Degree in Visual Communication, Multimedia Design or a related course of study
  • Portfolio containing samples of fashion on figure, still life and video art direction
  • Current with industry trends, emerging technologies and techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis in Photoshop, InDesign and Premier Pro
  • Knowledge in usability design, information design and content design
  • Fluency in Social Media trends and executions
  • Self-motivated, excited about photography fashion, able to work independently
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage/lead photo teams
  • Able to successfully organize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment with superior attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to interface with marketing/merchant/development teams on a regular basis
