Job Title: Aftermarket Parts Sales Representative, North Central U.S.

Location: Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Overview

The Aftermarket Parts Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth within the North Central region by soliciting business from new and existing accounts. This role focuses on expanding the Cummins Clean Fuel Technologies product line, including maintenance, repair, and service parts for natural gas fuel systems. The representative will build strong relationships with dealers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), third-party dealers, and fleet customers to promote the support and adoption of Cummins' natural gas fuel system solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Growth & Development:
    • Learn and effectively sell all aftermarket products, including parts for maintenance, repair, and service of natural gas fuel systems.
    • Implement systematic selling techniques, including pre-call planning, opportunity investigation, solution offering, and sales closing.
    • Promote and sell All Makes parts beyond proprietary brands.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive account-specific growth strategies.
  • Account Management:
    • Call on accounts via various methods to enhance engagement and promote preventative maintenance programs.
    • Partner closely with dealer networks to drive product sales and acceptance.
    • Foster and maintain customer relationships across the assigned region.
    • Actively recover lost accounts and cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Sales Activities & Events:
    • Participate in sales blitzes, trade shows, and customer events, focusing on solutions for natural gas fuel system maintenance.
    • Travel within the assigned region (50% travel required) to meet with customers and promote aftermarket products.
  • Reporting & CRM Management:
    • Accurately input all sales calls, customer interactions, and activities into the companys CRM system.
    • Pre-call plan, document sales strategies, and manage account activities within the CRM platform.

Key Performance Metrics

  • Sales Revenue: Achievement of sales targets and revenue growth.
  • Gross Margin: Maintenance of profitability through effective pricing and sales strategies.
  • Customer Business Development Activity:
    • Contacts/Calls: Consistent outreach and engagement with accounts.
    • Orders: Increasing the volume and frequency of customer orders for natural gas system parts.
    • Deliveries: Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required; bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales, with a focus on maintenance and repair parts for natural gas fuel systems or commercial truck parts preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Competent in using CRM systems for sales planning and account management.
  • Licenses:
    • Valid drivers license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift/move up to ten pounds and occasionally up to twenty-five pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and adjustable focus.
