POSITION OVERVIEW

General Mills is seeking an Inventory Control Analyst to join the Buffalo, New York team. This position plays an integral role in the end-to-end management of inventory for a two-site manufacturer. A successful candidate will conduct analysis and assist in decision making in a highly cross-functional, interactive work environment, working closely with the Warehouse & Finance teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and own cycle counting program for raw materials
  • Ensure timely & accurate inventory by managing count verifications, investigating, analyzing, and determining root cause for discrepancies
  • Provide technical leadership in a high performing and collaborative environment
  • Demonstrate & teach full understanding of inventory movement
  • Execute financial controls related to inventory management, including monthly control report reviews & maintaining an audit ready status through periodic review and self-audits
  • Develop technical expertise in Blue Yonder & SAP, our inventory management system & enterprise system
  • Develop & Support Continuous Improvement of inventory management processes
  • Support other plant and function initiatives as needed
  • Analyze monthly adjustment & overuse results and leverage financial acumen to identify potential cost savings trends, adjustments in scrap factors and/or process improvements
  • Actively participate with cross functional HMM teams
  • Work non-traditional schedule as necessary for inventory counts

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Self-managed individual with demonstrated motivation and initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills with employees at all levels
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
  • Desire and ability to work well with little supervision as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to influence, develop, and motivate peers (Matrix Relationship Management)
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvement and productivity opportunities
  • Strong attention to detail, bias for action, organization, and analytical skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with SAP or Blue Yonder (or other enterprise/inventory management systems)
  • Good understanding of Material Handling and/or Inventory processes

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range The salary range for this position is $55600.00 - $76600.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
