Closing date: November 19, 2024 CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley, LLC (CHBWV) is the prime contractor selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Phase 1 Facility Disposition Project at the West Valley Demonstration Project. The site is a scenic 30-minute drive south of Buffalo, New York. In cooperation with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, CHBWV continues to decontaminate and decommission facilities at this site. JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Sr Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for planning and executing major control tasks involving technically complex processes and methods in connection with the companys quality assurance program by applying advanced engineering principles and assists management in developing, implementing, and monitoring programs and procedures to ensure compliance with contractual, federal, state, and local requirements. The Sr Quality Assurance Specialist will implement WVDP-111 QA Requirements, conduct internal and external QA assessments and audits, and serve as the WVDP WCO/AWCO NNSS Representative. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. Education/Experience: BA/BS in Quality Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to occupation. Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience Demonstrated experience leading and/or supporting quality assessments, surveillances, and/or audits. Demonstrated experience in preparation of QA Procedures for review, approval, and issue in accordance with requirements and/or standards. B. Licenses/Certifications: NQA-1 Auditor or Lead Auditor Certification preferred. DOECAP auditor certification preferred. American Society of Quality Certification (ASQ) preferred. Non-destructive Examination Techniques preferred. Training and experience in DOE 0 414.1D, NNSS WAC knowledge and QA codes and standards preferred. C. Other Requirements: Knowledge of DOE directives, NQA-1, and QA/QC methods and standards Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent analytical skills MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/SCOPE OF WORK: 1. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following established safe work practices and procedures; including following all safety rules, use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE), investigating and reporting identified safety concerns or situations. 2. Adhere to standards contained in the Company Code of Conduct, Company EEO practices, and DOE directives. 3. Ensure DOEs interpretation of Quality Assurance standards are being consistently applied so all projects and activities are completed correctly and in a safe manner. 4. Provide support by performing, scheduling, documenting, and tracking surveillances, assessments, and QA audits. 5. Maintain QA surveillance database. 6. Provide quality engineering support including design, procurement, procedure review, surveillance of ongoing activities, and QA consultation to other project staff. 7. Perform independent quality engineering activities as defined by CHBWV QA program, associated QA procedures, standards, ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR 830, Subpart A, and DOE/RW-0333P. 8.
