  • This is a NIGHT-SHIFT ONLY position. Typical shifts are 12 hours, from 7:00pm - 7:00am.
  • This position requires at least 24 hours of weekend shift work in a 4-week period.
  • This position has a strict requirement of attending 4 days of training. The dates of these trainings are Monday, February 3rd 2025 to Thursday, November 6th, 2025. The training will take place each of those days from 7:00am - 5:00pm. If you miss one of these days, your offer will be revoked and you will not be eligible to work as a Patient Companion.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position; if you do not pass the required drug testing, your offer will be revoked. Medical Marijuana cards will not be accepted. Similarly, if you do not pass a background check, your offer will be revoked.
  • Interviews for this position will take place the week of January 6th - January 10th, 2025.
Job Summary: The Patient Companion sits with patients that are on suicide precautions, have eating disorders, have an Adult Detention Order or are of harm to themselves or others.Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.Work Experience: 0 - 6 months related experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Observes and reports patient's condition, activities, and needs to licensed nurse accurately and in a timely manner. Organizes and prioritizes tasks for maximum efficiency and patient comfort. Demonstrates knowledge appropriate to patient population, including notifying staff when needing to leave patient room. Performs environmental activities to maintain and clean and orderly patient room/unit. Performs other duties as assigned. Supports unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities.Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers.
